MADISON, N.J. – Freshman
Sydnie Bogan made a season-high five saves in the first half but it was not enough as FDU Florham defeated the Centenary University field hockey team on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts Devils opened up a 4-0 lead at the half and eventually claimed the 6-0 victory.
Haleigh Flukey scored a goal in each of the first two periods which helped the home team grab the lead in the game.
Bogan made two stops in the first period and added three in the second quarter for the Cyclones.
FDU Florham scored a goal in the third and
Maggie Sohns scored her second goal of the day in the fourth quarter to cap the 6-0 victory.
Megan March did not have to make a save to earn the win in goal for the Devils. In addition to Bogan's five saves, the Cyclones got four saves from freshman
Emma Cahill in the second half.
The Cyclones face a quick turnaround as they are back in action on Monday, Sept. 9 when they travel to William Paterson for a 7 p.m. game.
