Men's Soccer Tripped Up at King's

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Sophomore Will Hodic made a pair of saves to lead the Centenary University men's soccer team in a 3-0 loss at King's College (Pa.) on Wednesday afternoon.

The Monarchs got on the scoreboard in the seventh minute of the game as Aidan Oyler connected on a shot from 35-yards out.

The two teams continued to battle throughout the first half but Oyler's goal proved to be the only score in the first 45 minutes. Junior Tom Parry and sophomore Stephen Zuluaga each got a shot off in the first half but neither found the back of the net.

King's scored a pair of second half goals to secure the 3-0 victory. August Axtman and Kyle Shalvey were credited with the goals for the Monarchs.

Zuluaga got off a shot in the second half for the Cyclones but was unable to connect.

Connor McKeown made one save to earn the win in goal for King's. Hodic had the two saves for the Cyclones.

Centenary is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 28 when the Cyclones begin Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play by hosting Bryn Athyn at 1 p.m.
