Women's Soccer Tripped Up at FDU Florham

MADISON, N.J. – Freshman Chelsea Estacio made five saves but it was not enough as FDU Florham claimed a 4-0 win over the Centenary University women's soccer team on Tuesday night.

The Devils needed just 52 seconds to grab the lead in this one as FDU Florham took the opening touch of the game and scored a goal off the foot of Madison Finnegan.

The two teams continued to battle on both ends of the field but the Devils were able to maintain their 1-0 advantage. The Cyclones put a pair of shots on goal, one from senior Stephanie Williams and one from sophomore Amanda Lebelt, but both were saved.

FDU Florham tacked on three more goals in the second half for the 4-0 victory. Erika Pita who had an assist on the first goal, picked up a tally of her own in the second stanza.

Williams and junior Karleigh Noll each took a second half shot for the Cyclones but neither was able to find the back of the net.

Ashley Paulino made four saves to earn the win in goal for the Devils. It was Estacio's third game this season with at least five saves.

Centenary is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 14 when it travels to Stockton for a 1 p.m. game.
