Cyclones Fall in Season Opening Tri-Match at PSU Abington

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ABINGTON, Pa. – Senior Melissa Krueger posted a double-double in the season opener to lead the Centenary University volleyball team in it's tri-match at Penn State Abington on Saturday afternoon.

The Cyclones fell to Valley Forge, 3-0 in the season opener and then was tripped up by PSU Abington by a 3-0 margin.

Krueger contributed 13 assists, 10 digs, six kills and two service aces to pace the Cyclones against Valley Forge. Junior Leandra Garcia tied for the team lead with six kills against the Patriots while sophomore Anabelle Olivo had seven digs.

Kaitlyn Hess had seven kills and 14 digs to lead Valley Forge in that contest.

In the PSU Abington match, Krueger had a team-high four service aces and five digs while Olivo contributed five digs.

Samantha Link had six kills and eight service aces for the Nittany Lions and Gaby Shreve added 11 digs.

The Cyclones will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 5 when they host William Paterson at 7 p.m.
