Lacamera Makes 20 Saves as Men's Lacrosse Falls at Kean

UNION, N.J. – Sophomore Ryan Lacamera made a career-high 20 saves as the Centenary University men's lacrosse team fell to Kean University by an 18-6 score on Wednesday night in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play.

The Cyclones and Cougars traded early goals as sophomore Kyle Mott's 12th goal of the year at 12:27 tied the game at 1-1.

Kean scored back-to-back goals and took a 3-1 lead with 7:13 remaining in the first quarter.

Mott struck for his second of the day, this time coming while the Cyclones were man down, at 4:33 and pulled the visitors to within one, 3-2.

Kean struck for four straight goals and took a 7-2 lead with 13:17 to go until the half.

A goal from sophomore Nick Biango at 11:47 broke up the Kean scoring spurt and made it a 7-3 game.

The Cougars used a 6-0 run that bridged the second and third quarters and gave the home team a 13-3 advantage with 8:09 remaining in the third period.

Centenary scored two of the next three goals in the game as junior Nick Bogert struck for a man-up goal while Mott completed his hat trick.

Kean scored four of the final five goals in the game and claimed the 18-6 victory.

Ryan Sieb started the game in goal for Kean and made six saves in 48:29 to earn the win in goal. Lacamera made double digit saves for the fifth time this season in the loss for the Cyclones. He made eight of his 20 saves in the first period for the Cyclones.

Tyler Roberto led Kean with four goals and five assists for nine points.

Mott contributed three goals and one assist to lead the Cyclones while Bogert posted a goal and four ground balls. Junior Chris Howell won 16 faceoffs and scooped up 10 ground balls.

The Cyclones are back in action this weekend when they host Keystone on Saturday, April 13 at 12 p.m.
