PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. – Freshmen
Jessica McKenzie and
Victoria Jacobs each scored a team-high 11 points but a big fourth quarter lifted the University of Valley Forge to a 52-47 win over the Centenary University women's basketball team on Monday night in nonconference action.

Caitlyn Reyes helped the Cyclones open a up 7-4 lead with 5:38 to go in the first quarter.
Valley Forge scored the next seven points in the game and grabbed an 11-7 advantage with 4:15 showing on the clock.
Jhanel Brown had four points during that scoring spurt.
McKenzie gave the Cyclones a 14-13 lead with her lay-up at the 51 second mark.
The Patriots scored the final four points of the quarter and took a 17-13 lead after one.
Those four points were part of an 8-0 run that bridged the first and second quarters and gave Valley Forge a 21-14 lead with 9:16 remaining until the half.
Centenary responded by scoring the next six points of the game and cut the Valley Forge lead to one, 21-20 with 4:08 showing on the clock.
The Patriots pushed their advantage to five, 25-20 as
Cayleen Conrad connected on a jumper at 2:09.
Centenary scored the final six points of the quarter as McKenzie's free throws with two seconds left in the period sent the visitors into the half with a 26-25 edge.
Buckets by McKenzie and Jacobs to start the third quarter extended the Cyclone advantage to 30-25 with 7:12 to go in the stanza.
An old-fashioned three-point play from Brown at the 4:01 mark put Valley Forge ahead 32-30.
Centenary used a 7-0 run to take a 37-32 lead with 1:32 to go in the period. Freshman
Meghan Barone drained a three-pointer during that stretch.
The two teams traded baskets as Centenary took a 39-37 lead at the end of the third quarter.
McKenzie hit one of two from the foul line at 8:40 of the fourth quarter as Centenary took a 40-38 lead.
Valley Forge scored seven of the next nine points and took a 45-42 edge with 3:16 to go in the game.
The two teams traded points over the final three minutes as Valley Forge claimed the 52-47 victory.
Valley Forge shot 33.3 percent from the field in the game and was 8-for-9 from the foul line. Centenary posted a field goal percentage of 40 percent and went 5-for-7 from the foul line. The Patriots held a 33-32 edge in the rebounding battle.
McKenzie added six rebounds and two steals to go with her 11 points for the Cyclones while Jacobs contributed eight rebounds and two assists to go with her 11 tallies. Reyes posted eight points, three assists and three steals.
Brown led Valley Forge with 17 points and 15 rebounds in the contest.
The Cyclones are back in action as they head out on the road to Rosemont on Wednesday, Feb. 13 for a 6 p.m. game.
