Williams Scores Two to Lead Women's Soccer Past Bryn Athyn, 5-1

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Senior Stephanie Williams scored a pair of goals to lead the Centenary University women's soccer team to a 5-1 win over Bryn Athyn College in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) regular season finale on a rainy Thursday afternoon.

The Cyclones fired off 14 shots in the first half but were unable to break free until the 42:50 mark. Junior Karleigh Noll played a ball in that sophomore Amanda Lebelt collected and pushed home for her 10th goal of the season.

Freshman Chelsea Estacio saved the only shot she faced in the first 45 minutes of action and the Cyclones took a 1-0 lead at the half.

Williams pushed the Centenary advantage to 2-0 just into the second half and she knocked home a long pass from fellow senior Raeanna Cope.

Williams tallied her second goal of the day and eight of the year at 54:03 as the Cyclones took a 3-0 advantage in the game. Senior Chloe Christopher picked up the assist on Williams' goal.

The Cyclones were not done yet as the home team scored twice in a just under three-minute span for the 5-0 advantage. Junior Jill Pullis scored the first while Christopher struck for her team leading 14th goal of the season at 78:16.

Bryn Athyn broke through for a goal off the foot of Maggie McCabe at 81:06.

That proved to be all the scoring in the contest as the Cyclones claimed the 5-1 victory.

Estacio made two more saves in the second half and finished with three to earn the win in goal. Allie Warren made eight saves in the loss for Bryn Athyn.

Williams led the Cyclones with four points on her two goals while Christopher contributed three points on a goal and an assist.

The Cyclones will be back in action next week as the CSAC Tournament gets underway. Centenary earned the number two seed and will play host to No. 3 Cairn on Wednesday, Nov. 6. The Cyclones defeated Cairn 2-0 during the regular season.
