HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – In a back-and-forth match that featured 19 ties and 11 lead changes, Rosemont College edged out the Centenary University volleyball team for a 3-2 win on Thursday night in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play.

Emerald Richard and senior
Melissa Krueger each posted double-doubles to lead the Cyclones.
The two teams battled through six ties and four lead changes in the first set. Centenary took a 20-18 lead on an attack error by the Ravens. Rosemont scored the final seven points of the set for the 25-20 win.
Ke'aloh Naone-Carter had a pair of service aces during that closing stretch.
In the second set, the two teams were tied at 4-4 early. Centenary used a 7-0 run to take an 11-4 advantage in the set. Krueger had three service aces during that stretch. The Cyclones pushed their lead to 18-9 on back-to-back kills from Richard. Centenary eventually claimed a 25-14 set win to even the match at 1-1 on a kill from Richard.
The Cyclones quickly opened up a 6-1 lead in the third set. The two teams continued to battle as Centenary took a 20-10 advantage on a kill from junior
Leandra Garcia. A service ace from
Anabelle Olivo gave the Cyclones a 25-14 set win and a 2-1 lead in the match.
The fourth set was the tightest of the match as the Cyclones and Ravens fought through eight ties and five lead changes. The Cyclones took a 14-10 lead on back-to-back service aces from Richard. A block from Garcia gave the Cyclones a 20-16 edge. A 6-0 run highlighted by three straight kills from
Abigail Brooks gave Rosemont a 22-20 lead. Centenary got one back on a kill from senior
Storm Spooner but the Ravens closed out the 25-21 set win to send the match to a fifth set.
Centenary opened up an 8-4 lead in the fifth set. Rosemont scored three of the next four points and cut the home team lead to 9-7. A kill from Garcia gave Centenary a 13-8 edge in the set. Rosemont scored four straight points to pull to within one, 13-12. The two teams went back and fourth as a kill from Garcia put the Cyclones ahead 15-14. However three straight kills from Brooks gave Rosemont a 17-15 set win and victory in the match.
Richard had a match-high 17 kills for the Cyclones as she hit .500 for the contest. She added 14 digs and four service aces for Centenary. Krueger posted her second straight double-double as she finished with 14 assists and 14 digs while also adding eight kills. Olivo had a team-high 21 digs while Garcia added 10 kills. Sophomore
Amelia Rodriguez had 17 assists and seven digs.
Brooks led Rosemont with 16 kills while
Julianna Capece had a match-high 22 digs.
The Cyclones are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 5 as they travel to Cedar Crest for a 10 a.m. match.
