Christopher Scores as Women's Soccer Tripped Up at Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Senior Chloe Christopher scored her team-leading 13th goal of the season but it was not enough as Cedar Crest College earned a 2-1 win over the Centenary University women's soccer team in a rainy Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest on Tuesday night.

Both teams had their chances in the first 45 minutes but neither squad was able to find the back of the net. Freshman Chelsea Estacio made three big saves for the Cyclones while Lauren Makely made one save for the Falcons.

The second half started in a driving rain as the two teams had to work a little harder for their opportunities.

The Falcons finally broke through at 51:20 as Kara Brownlie scored. It was the first goal surrendered by the Cyclones in CSAC regular season play since Oct. 21, 2017 against Immaculata.

Centenary tallied the equalizer at 52:38 as junior Jill Pullis played the ball into the box and Christopher was able to punch it home.

Cedar Crest scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at 72:46 off a shot from Kimberly Rosano.

Both teams continued to battle over the final stretch but neither team was able to score, and Cedar Crest claimed the 2-1 win. It was the Cyclones' first CSAC regular season loss since Sept. 26, 2017 against Marywood.

Makely finished with the one save to earn the win in goal for the Falcons. Estacio made four saves in the loss for the Cyclones.

The Cyclones will look to bounce back on Saturday, Oct. 26 when they travel to Notre Dame (Md.) at 2 p.m.
