CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Centenary University women's soccer team ran its win streak to five straight matches with a 7-0 win at Wilson College on Saturday afternoon.
The Cyclones have now won 20 straight Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) regular season contests dating back to the 2017 season.
Centenary wasted little time in getting on the board in this one as senior
Stephanie Williams scored just 37 seconds into the game. Williams' tally was assisted by fellow senior
Haley Hobbs.
The Cyclones scored two more times in the first 10 minutes of the game for an early 3-0 lead. Hobbs and sophomore
Amanda Lebelt each scored during that stretch with senior
Chloe Christopher picking up the assist on both goals.
Centenary scored one more time before the half as junior
Jill Pullis and
Karleigh Noll connected for Noll's fourth goal of the season at the 29-minute mark.
The Cyclones held a 4-0 lead at the half while holding a 14-0 advantage in the shots category.
A pair of Cyclones scored their first goals of the season in the second half.
Senior
Victoria Speakman found the back of the net at 52:58 as she scored off a pass from Christopher.
Senior
Raeanna Cope scored her goal at the 66:50 mark and gave the visitors a 6-0 advantage.
The Cyclones capped the scoring at 76:09 as Williams struck for her second of the day off a pass from Cope.
The Cyclones did not allow Wilson to register a shot in the second half en route to the 7-0 victory.
Freshman
Chelsea Estacio was not forced to make a save while recording her sixth shutout of the season for the Cyclones.
Danielle Stafford made five saves for the Phoenix.
The Cyclones are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 19 when they host Cairn at 1 p.m. Centenary will honor its eight seniors prior to the start of that game.
