Warne Records a Season-High in Saves as Cyclones Fall to Muhlenberg

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Senior Devon Warne had a season-high eight saves on a cold and rainy Saturday but it was not enough as the Centenary University men's soccer team fell to Muhlenberg College in nonconference action.

The Mules jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the half and added a tally in the second stanza for the 3-0 victory.

Muhlenberg got on the board in the 25th minute as Kevin Irving passed a ball into the front of the cage and Matt Athanas-Linden knocked it home.

The Mules added to their lead in the 38th minute as Mark Winter drew Warne out of the net and knocked the ball past him.

Warne made five first half stops for the Cyclones.

Muhlenberg capped the scoring in the 56th minute as Josh Bordwick scored off a pass from Stephen Carton.

Warne made three more stops in the second 45 minutes of play.

Jordan Schreer and Raymond Leto split time in goal for Muhlenberg and neither was forced to make a stop in the win.

Senior Jared Miele led the Cyclones with three shots in the game.

The Cyclones are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 12 as they travel to U.S. Merchant Marine Academy for a 7:45 p.m. contest.
