CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – Senior Carolyn Clites recorded three RBIs, including the 100th of her career, to lead the Centenary University softball team to a doubleheader sweep of Clarks Summit in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday.

The Cyclones took game one by a 9-1 score and snapped a 12-game losing streak in the process. Clites became the third player in program history with 100 or more career RBIs as her three RBIs in game two helped secure an 11-0 victory and the sweep.

Game One Recap (Centenary Won 9-1)
The Cyclones scored at least one run in each of the first four innings of game one.

Sophomore Jessica Hewitt lifted a sac fly to center field in the first inning which scored freshman Tessa Ferentinos with the first run of the game. Sophomore Juli Wright then tripled to right field and Clites scored on the play.

Senior Ashley Eisenstein extended the Centenary lead to 3-0 with an RBI infield single in the second.

Centenary added two more runs in the third and pushed its advantage to 5-0 in the third inning. Wright delivered an RBI single in the inning before freshman Courtney Deloughery knocked in a run with an RBI groundout.

The Cyclones plated four runs on four hits in the top of the fourth and led 9-0 in the game. Hewitt, Wright and Deloughery recorded three straight RBI singles before senior Raychel Piserchia reached on an error to force in the fourth run of the inning.

Clarks Summit got one of those runs back in the bottom of the fourth as Alexa Wagner reached on an error and a run scored. However, that was all the Defenders could get as the Cyclones claimed the 9-1 victory.

Senior Sammie Darling delivered a strong performance in the circle to earn the win. She gave up just one unearned run on four hits in five innings of work. Darling also recorded four strikeouts in the contest. Allison Glennon took the loss after giving up nine runs on 11 hits in five innings.

Wright was 3-for-3 with three RBIs while Hewitt finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs for the Cyclones. Eisenstein added three hits while Clites scored three runs.
