SCRANTON, Pa. - Senior
Carolyn Clites tied the school record for career doubles with 47 as the Centenary University softball team closed out its 2018 season with a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) doubleheader at Marywood University.
The Pacers took game one from the Cyclones by an 8-2 score and then secured a 14-1 win in the nightcap for the sweep.

Game One Recap (Marywood Won 8-2)
The Cyclones struck first in game one as sophomore
Jessica Hewitt's single to center scored Clites, who had reached on a double.
Marywood responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half of that frame. The Pacers' runs came courtesy of a sacrifice fly and an RBI groundout.
The Pacers extended their lead to 5-1 with three runs in the bottom of the second.
Alexa Scala had a two run single to highlight the action in the inning.
The combination of Hewitt and Clites allowed the Cyclones to score another run in the top of the third. After Clites' double which tied the school record, Hewitt singled her home which made it a 5-2 game.
Marywood scored three more runs in the bottom of the fourth, which made it an 8-2 game and proved to be the difference.
Kristie Alvarez had a two-run single to lead the Pacers in that inning.
Alvarez earned the win in the circle for Marywood as she gave up just two runs on nine hits in seven innings of work. Senior
Sammie Darling suffered the loss for the Cyclones after giving up five runs on two hits in 1.2 innings of work. Hewitt gave up three runs on seven hits in 4.1 innings of relief work.
Alvarez was 2-for-3 with four RBIs to lead the Pacers at the plate.
Heather Schultz went 1-for-1 with two walks and three runs scored.
Clites paced the Cyclones at the dish as she went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored while Hewitt went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Game Two Recap (Marywood won 14-1)
Marywood took an early 4-0 lead in game two with a run in the first inning and three more in the bottom of the second.
Centenary got on the board in the top of the third. Freshman
Courtney Deloughery laced a single down the right field line and scored on Clites' single to center.
Marywood added six runs in the bottom of the third and four in the fourth and claimed the 14-1 win.
Jackie Burke drove in three runs in the final two innings while
Lauryn Butler and Scala each plated two runs.
Kelly McKenna earned the win in the circle for the Pacers. She gave up one run on six hits in five innings of action. Darling took the loss as she gave up 10 runs on 10 hits in 2.1 innings of action. Freshman
Samantha Gabriele surrendered four runs on four hits in 1.2 innings of relief work.
Burke finished with two hits and three RBIs for Marywood while
Annie Heyen contributed two hits, three runs scored and two RBIs.
Hewitt had two hits for the Cyclones while Deloughery had a hit and a run scored and Clites had a hit and an RBI.
Monday's season finale marked the final games in a Centenary uniform for Clites, Darling,
Ashley Eisenstein and
Raychel Piserchia.
