DENVILLE, N.J. – Senior
Kevin Sensale had three hits, including the 100th of his career, as the Centenary University baseball team fell to Cabrini University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) doubleheader on Saturday.
The Cavaliers scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh for a 3-2 win in game one. Cabrini then captured the nightcap by a 9-5 margin.

Cabrini struck first in game one as
Brett Kuchera's infield single brought home
John Lindeborn in the top of the first.
The Cavaliers maintained that 1-0 advantage until the bottom of the sixth. Junior
Ryan Jasiecki launched a ball over the left field fence with two outs. Jasiecki's third home run of the season tied the game at 1-1.
RBI doubles from Lindeborn and
Mack McKisson in the top of the seventh gave Cabrini a 3-1 advantage in the contest.
The Cyclones got one of those runs back in the bottom of the seventh as senior
Tim Maxwell connected on his team-leading fifth home run of the season, which made it a 3-2 game. However Cabrini got the final out after Maxwell's round tripper and secured the 3-2 victory.
Tyler Ronayne earned the win on the mound in relief. He gave up just one run on one hit 1.1 innings of work.
Corey Hunt started the game for Cabrini and surrendered one run on four hits in 5.2 innings of action. Senior
James Graziani suffered the loss after giving up three runs, one of which was earned on eight hits in 6.1 innings. Sophomore
Nick Scotto got the final two outs for the Cyclones.
Lindeborn led Cabrini with three hits, two runs scored and an RBI while Kuchera added two hits.
Maxwell and Jasiecki each went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Game Two Recap (Cabrini Won 9-5)
Cabrini got on the board with a run in the top of the first. Junior
Casey Brown induced a ground ball double play with the bases loaded but
Tyler Norris scored on the play.
The Cavaliers scored seven runs in the top of the second and took an 8-0 lead in the contest.
JD Barrett and
Vince Gares each knocked in a pair of runs as Cabrini batted around in the inning.
Sensale recorded his milestone hit with an infield single in the bottom of the second.
Cabrini added an unearned run in the top of the fifth which made it a 9-0 game. Norris had an RBI single in the inning.
The Cyclones got on the board in the bottom half of that frame. Senior
John Tierney doubled to left center and that scored junior
JT Valley. Tierney came around and crossed the plate on Maxwell's single. Maxwell scored on Sensale's two-out single.
Centenary made it a 9-5 game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh. Three straight singles from Tierney, Maxwell and Jasiecki loaded the bases. Cabrini got the first two outs of the inning on a double play but Tierney scored on the play. Maxwell then scored on Sensale's single to center field.
Drew Swire earned the win in relief for the Cavaliers as he got the final out in the fifth inning. Brown took the loss for the Cyclones after giving up eight runs in 1.2 innings of work. Freshman
Will Kramer and sophomore
Christopher Lilly were strong out of the bullpen for the Cyclones as they combined to allow just one unearned run in 7.1 innings of work.
Gares has three hits and two RBIs for Cabrini while Barrett added two hits and two RBIs.
Tierney was a solid 4-for-5 with two runs scored out of the leadoff spot for the Cyclones. Maxwell had two hits and two runs scored while Sensale had three hits and two RBIs.
The Cyclones will be back in action on Saturday, May 5 when they host Immaculata at Skylands Stadium in Augusta, New Jersey. Centenary will honor its nine seniors that day.
