GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – Freshman
Courtney Deloughery had an RBI single in game two as the Centenary University softball fell in a pair of Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) games at Gwynedd Mercy University on Saturday afternoon.
The Griffins took game one by an 8-0 score before securing an 8-1 victory in the nightcap.
Game One Recap (Gwynedd Mercy Won 8-0)
Gwynedd Mercy got on the board with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Amanda Clark had an RBI double and came around to score on
Lauren Waller's triple.
A two-run triple from
Tara Matteo helped the Griffins extend their lead to 5-0 in the second inning.
Waller drove in a pair of runs with a double in the fourth which made it a 7-0 game.
Jessica Behr's RBI double in the sixth inning made the final score, 8-0 in favor of the Griffins.
Melissa Hess picked up the win in game one as she allowed just two hits in six innings of work. Senior
Sammie Darling took the loss after giving up eight runs on 13 hits in five plus innings of work.
Waller had two hits and three RBIs to lead Gwynedd Mercy at the plate.

Ashley Eisenstein and sophomore
Justine Stefura each had a hit for the Cyclones.
Game Two Recap (Gwynedd Mercy Won 8-1)
Gwynedd Mercy jumped out to a 5-0 lead through two innings in game two.
An RBI single from Clark in the fourth inning pushed the Gwynedd Mercy lead to 6-0.
Tori Sherwood reached on a fielder's choice in the frame and a run scored on the play as the Griffins led 7-0.
Centenary got on the board in the top of the fifth inning. Senior
Raychel Piserchia singled to lead off the frame and came around to score on Deloughery's two-out base knock.
The Griffins tacked on one more run in the bottom of the fifth and sealed the 8-1 victory.
Alyssa Morales earned the game two win after allowing just one run on four hits in seven innings of work. Sophomore
Jessica Hewitt took the loss after giving up eight runs, four of which were earned on 12 hits in six innings.
Behr had three hits and three runs scored for the Griffins while Waller contributed three hits and a run scored.
Piserchia had a hit and a run scored while Deloughery recorded a hit and an RBI. Stefura and sophomore
Imani Lugo also registered hits for Centenary.
It's a quick turnaround for the Cyclones as they are back in action on Sunday, April 22 to host FDU Florham. First pitch of game one is set for 12 p.m. at Tannery Field on Centenary's campus. The Cyclones will honor their seniors Piserchia, Eisenstein, Darling and
Carolyn Clites before the game.
