Bath Scores for the Cyclones in Road Contest at Wesley

DOVER, Del. – Senior Erika Bath had a goal and four draw controls to lead the Centenary University women's lacrosse against Wesley College on Tuesday afternoon. The Wolverines claimed the 19-1 victory over the Cyclones.

Wesley sprinted out to an early lead with three goals in the first minute of the game and 10 in the first 10 minutes of action. The Wolverines eventually took a 16-0 lead at the half. Fallon Fore scored four first half goals while Maddison Cypher added a goal and three assists.

Wesley scored the first three goals of the second half and led 19-0 with 6:41 to play.

Centenary got on the board with Bath's goal at 5:13. Junior Nicole Soriero won the ball and brought it into the offensive end for the Cyclones. She found an open Bath with a pass and she took the ball in and scored. That made the final score 19-1 in favor of the home team.

Shelby Schirmer made two saves to earn the win in goal for the Wolverines. Junior Renee Hack stopped five shots in the loss for the Cyclones.

Centenary won 12 of the game's 22 draw controls. Bath and Soriero each secured four draws for the Cyclones. Wesley held a 30-6 advantage in shots during the contest.

Fore led Wesley with five goals and one assist in the game while Cypher had a goal and five assists.

Bath had a goal and four draw controls while Soriero finished with an assist and four draw controls. Junior Kristin Karszen had a team-high three caused turnovers and two ground balls.

It's a quick turnaround for the Cyclones as they are back on the field tomorrow when they travel to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy for a 5:30 p.m. game.
