Christopher Scores Two as Women's Soccer Blanks Rosemont

ROSEMONT, Pa. – Junior Chloe Christopher scored a pair of goals to lead the Centenary University women's soccer team to a 4-0 win at Rosemont College on Tuesday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

The Cyclones are 3-0 to start league play for the second straight year and have recorded a shutout in each of their conference games this season.

Christopher got the scoring started at 31:15 as she knocked a pass from senior Kara LaPolice home. That goal proved to the game-winner as it is the second straight game that Christopher has tallied the game-winner.

Christopher struck for her second goal of the game, just over 10 minutes later, this time off a pass from senior Kristin Karszen.

That 2-0 lead carried the Cyclones into the half. Centenary outshot the Ravens 13-2 in the first half as junior Justine Stefura saved the only shot she faced for the Cyclones.

Centenary added to its lead at 80:17 as senior Amanda Benoit scored her fourth goal of the year off a pass from junior Stephanie Williams.

The Cyclones capped the scoring with just 49 seconds to play as redshirt junior Sam Bombardiere scored her first goal of the year, which made the final score 4-0.

Stefura stopped the only shot on goal by the Ravens for her second straight shutout and the win. Emma Lindsay made seven saves in the loss for Rosemont.

Centenary held a 27-4 advantage in shots and a 10-2 edge in corner kicks.

Centenary returns home on Saturday, Oct. 6 to host Wilson College at 1 p.m.
