Jon Fleck (Phillipsburg, N.J. / Warren Hills Regional) went 2-for-5 with two RBI's, while junior
Kevin Sensale (Bartonsville, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East) went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored as the Centenary University baseball team dropped its series finale to Keystone College, 13-4 at Diamond Nation on Monday evening.
Brendan Long went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI's for the Giants who improve to 12-6 overall and 5-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Sophomore
John Tierney (West Milford, N.J. / West Milford) went 2-for-5 with a run scored for the Cyclones who fall to 1-14 overall and 0-6 in the CSAC.
The Giants led 7-0 entering the bottom of the third after scoring seven runs on nine hits, including three runs apiece in both the first and third innings. Centenary finally got runs on the board in the third with three runs on three hits. After Tierney singled and senior
Nick Daniele (Colts Neck, N.J. / Red Bank Catholic) walked, Sensale hit an RBI single to right field that brought in Tierney from second. Fleck continued the Clones rally with a two RBI double that cleared the bases and brought home Daniele and Sensale. Centenary trailed 7-3 entering the fourth.
The Cyclones added another run in the fourth to cut Keystone's lead to 7-4. Sophomore
Chase Koffel (Perkiomenville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) singled through the left side and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Junior
Tim Maxwell (Glen Head, N.Y. / North Shore) came to the plate and reach on a fielding error by the Giants' right fielder allowing Koffel to score an unearned run from second.
After the rally, Centenary were unable to get another run across the plate as Keystone added to their current lead with runs in the fifth, sixth and ninth innings. The Giants scored four runs on two hits in the ninth, including a three RBI inside the park homerun from Chris Panzarella.
