LANGHORNE, Pa. (Apr. 29, 2017)- Junior
John Tierney (West Milford, N.J. / West Milford) went 2-for-5 with a run scored as the Centenary University baseball team dropped the series finale doubleheader to Cairn University on Saturday afternoon. The Highlanders improve to 15-16 overall and 5-13 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference, while the Cyclones fall to 5-22 overall and 4-14 in the CSAC.
GAME 1: Cairn 4, Centenary 1

Jon Fleck (Phillipsburg, N.J. / Warren Hills Regional), sophomore
Casey Brown (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area) and junior
Michael Caprari (Candor, N.Y. / Owego Free Academy) each recorded a hit as two Highlander homeruns proved to be the different in the game one loss.
Cairn led 3-0 entering the fourth with a solo homerun from
Daniel Morales in the second and a two run homer from
Aaron Takacs in the third. Fleck finally got the Clones on the scoreboard with his first homerun of the season, but Centenary still trailed 3-1. The Highlanders added another run in the bottom half of the fourth with an RBI single up the middle by
Nate Wilson.
John Burlaga fanned four in 4.2 innings pitched and recorded the decision. Junior
James Graziani (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater – Raritan) struck out two and took the loss for Centenary. Â

Mike Dolan (Piscataway, N.J. / Immaculata) each recorded a hit as the Cyclones seventh inning rally came up  short in the one run loss.
Cairn took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first with three runs on five hits, including a two RBI single down the left field line from
Josh Field and a RBI fielder's choice by
Keith LeNoue. The Highlanders would hold the 3-0 advantage into the seventh when the Cyclones made a late rally.
Tierney led off with a single, followed by Fleck earning a walk and Sensale reaching on an error by the shortstop to load the bases. Maxwell and sophomore
Ryan Jasiecki (Ledgewood, N.J. / Roxbury) both reached base and recorded an RBI, when pitcher
Emilio Alvarez hit two consecutive batters. Centenary cut Cairn's lead to 3-2 with just one out and the winning run at second. After the Highlanders made a pitching change, sophomore
Tyler Lisa (Rockaway, N.J. / Morris Knolls) was forced out at home and fellow classmate
Chase Koffel (Perkiomenville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) filed out to end the game. Â Â Â
Brown struck out one batter in the complete game loss, while
Sam Dralle fanned four and improved 4-4 overall.
