Carolyn Clites (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. / Hasbrouck Heights) and freshman
Juli Wright (Colonia, N.J. / Colonia) went 8-for-14 with eight RBI's as the Centenary University softball team swept a Colonial States Athletic Conference doubleheader with Clarks Summit University on Thursday afternoon. The Cyclones improve to 10-16 overall and 8-6 in the CSAC, while the Defenders fall to 6-20 overall and 1-12 in the CSAC.
GAME 1: Centenary 9, Clarks Summit 1 (6 Inn.)

Jamie Weingraten (Kendall Park, N.J. / South Brunswick) went a perfect 8-for-8 with five RBI's and four runs scored as the Cyclones mercy ruled the Defenders in game one.
The game remained scoreless until the third inning when Centenary took a 2-0 lead on back-to-back RBI's by Wright and junior
Sammie Darling (Succasunna, N.J. / Roxbury).
After CSU got a run back in the top half of the fifth, the Cyclones responded with five runs on four hits, including an RBI triple from Wright, and RBI singles from freshman
Jessica Hewitt (Waretown, N.J. / Southern Regional) and Weingarten, for a 7-1 advantage entering the sixth.
Centenary was well in control when the Cyclones added two more runs in the sixth, when Wright hit another RBI triple and Weingraten recorded another RBI single for a 9-1 lead.
Darling tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts and improved to 5-8 overall.
GAME 2: Centenary 6, Clarks Summit 3
Clites went 2-for-3 with five RBI's, while junior
Ashley Eisenstein (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) and sophomore
Amanda Fox (Unionville, Conn. / Farmington) both went 2-for-3 as the Cyclones made a late game rally to complete the sweep of the Defenders.
Clites looked to continue where the Cyclones left off in game one as she hit a three run, inside the park, homer down the right field line to score Eisenstein and freshman
Justine Stefura (Port Reading, N.J. / WoodBridge), who posted back-to-back singles to start the inning.
Errors in the second and third innings allowed Clarks Summit to get back into the game with three runs, which evened the contest at 3-3 entering the fifth inning. In the fifth, Clites recorded two more RBI's with a single to right field that scored Eisenstein and freshman
Imani Lugo (New Brunswick, N.J. / Central Jersey College Prep), who pinch run for Weingarten. Centenary regained the lead at 5-3. The Cyclones added one more run in the sixth when Fox tallied her second RBI of the season with single to left center that allowed Hewitt to cross the plate.
Darling earned her second victory after tossing 4.2 innings with three strikeouts in a relief appearance for Centenary.
