FLEMINGTON, N.J. (Mar. 5, 2017) - Senior
Nick Daniele (Colts Neck, N.J. / Red Bank Catholic) hit a solo homerun in the nightcap of a doubleheader loss to Stockton University at Diamond Nation on Sunday afternoon. The Ospreys improve to 3-0, while the Cyclones fell to 0-2.
Game 1: Stockton 3, Centenary 0
The Cyclones scattered three hits over seven innings as the Ospreys shutout Centenary in game one. Junior
Kevin Sensale (Bartonsville, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East), along with sophomores
Ryan Jasiecki (Ledgewood, N.J. / Roxbury) and
Joe Piscopo (Matawan, N.J. / Matawan) each tallied a hit for the Cyclones. Junior
James Graziani (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater - Raritan ) tossed five innings, while allowing three hits and one earned run.
The game remained scoreless until the fourth inning when Joe Pipher smacked an RBI tripled to score Stephen Edelstein. Pipher wasn't finished as he homered in the sixth to extend Stockton's lead to 3-0.
Game 2: Stockton 8, Centenary 1
The Cyclones scattered five hits over seven innings, including a solo homer from Daniele in the sixth as the Ospreys scored eight runs on seven hits in game two. Jasiecki and freshman
Jon Fleck (Phillipsburg, N.J. / Warren Hills Regional) each tallied two hits, while Daniele recorded the only RBI for Centenary on the afternoon.
Stockton led 1-0 entering the sixth, when Nick LaPorta hit a three RBI double to clear the bases and extend the Ospreys lead to 5-1. Stockton added on to their advantage with three runs on three hits in the seventh.
