Renee Hack (Old Bridge, N.J. / Bishop George Ahr) made nine saves as the Centenary University women's lacrosse team fell to Immaculata University, 20-3 on Saturday afternoon.
Rosemarie Reitman totaled five points on three goals and two assists for the Mighty Macs who improve to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Senior
Abby Voelkner (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) scored two goals for the Cyclones who fall to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the CSAC.
Immaculata opened the contest with seven unanswered goals, before Voelkner got Centenary on the scoreboard with a goal at the 16:05 mark of the first half. Junior
Katie O'Connell (Nutley, N.J. / Nutley) scored the first goal of her career with an assist from senior
Priscilla Ortiz (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) as the Cyclones trailed 14-2 at intermission.
The Mighty Macs expended their lead to as large as 18-2, before Voelkner netted her second goal of the afternoon with 8:27 remaining in the contest. The Macs had 10 different scorers, including four who tallied at least three goals.
Hack moved into fourth on the all-time saves list, needing just four saves entering today's contest to surpass Leslie Ann Pritchard (2008-10).
Ortiz added four draw controls and two groundballs, while Voelkner totaled six groundballs. O'Connell tallied a groundball and a caused turnover, while both Hack and sophomore
Krysta Astengo (Clifton, N.J. / Clifton) tallied a groundball.
