HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Mar. 2, 2017)- Powered by an eight goal second half, the Centenary University men's lacrosse team remained unbeaten with an 11-4 victory over Alvernia University on Thursday afternoon.

Nolan Gottshall (Toms River, N.J. / Toms River East) finished with four goals, six groundballs and two caused turnovers for the Cyclones who improve to 2-0 overall. Jarret Abernethy recorded a hat-trick for the Crusaders who fall to 1-1 overall.

Jon Manzo (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) each scored a goal in the opening quarter as the Cyclones held a tight 3-2 lead at intermission.

The Cyclones edged the Crusaders on shots (42-20), shots on goal (27-16), turnovers (15-21), groundballs (39-22) and faceoffs won (13-6).
Junior
Spencer Stachowiak (Bel Air, Md. / Bel Air) finished with seven groundballs and four caused turnovers, while Tremont also totaled seven groundballs as well. Freshman
Chris Howell (Bear, Del. / Delaware Military Academy) went 13-for-19 on faceoffs and scooped up five groundballs. Sophomore
Chris Cameron (Waldwick, N.J. / Waldwick) logged 60 minutes in the cage and made 12 saves along with three groundballs.
