Rashaan Spencer (Hackettstown, N.J. / Mount Olive) totaled 21 points and seven rebounds as the Centenary University men's basketball team fell to Rosemont College, 92-74 on Saturday afternoon.
Jamier Hughes finished with 23 points and 17 rebounds for the Ravens who improve to 13-10 overall and 11-5 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Sophomore
Jake Logue (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) totaled 13 points and seven rebounds for the Cyclones who fall to 11-12 overall and 7-9 in the CSAC.
After Rosemont used an 8-0 run to take a 28-20 lead, the Cyclones answered with a 10-1 run of their own, which was capped off by a three point play from senior
Justen Davis (Edison, N.J. / Wardlaw-Hartridge), to cut the Ravens lead to 31-30 with 5:39 remaining in the opening stanza. Spencer and Logue combined for 25 of the Cyclones 37 first half points as Rosemont held a 43-37 halftime advantage.
In the second half, the Cyclones had a tough time recovering from the halftime deficit. Centenary cut the lead to within seven points before the Ravens broke the game wide open late by extending their lead to as large as 24 at 92-68.
Senior
Zachary Duymich (Millstone Township, N.J. / Allentown) finished with 11 points and four rebounds, while Davis added nine points and three assists. Clayton Wolfe totaled 16 points, eight assists, and five rebounds, while Kyle Lafferty added 15 points for Rosemont in the victory.
