HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Jan. 28, 2017)- Sophomore
Jake Logue (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) made three triples and finished with 19 points as the Centenary University men's basketball team fell to Cabrini University, 77-63 on Saturday afternoon.
Tyheim Monroe finished with 34 points and 19 rebounds for the Cavaliers who improve to 15-4 overall and 11-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Junior
Rashaan Spencer (Hackettstown, N.J. / Mount Olive) finished with 18 points and four rebounds for the Cyclones who fall to 10-9 overall and 6-6 in the CSAC.
Centenary and Cabrini traded the lead back and forth in the opening 11 minutes, as the Cyclones evened the game at 17-17 on a jumper in the lane by Logue. Cabrini responded with a 14-3 run that propelled them into halftime with a 36-29 lead.
In the second half, Cabrini controlled the momentum despite both teams shooting under 40.0%. Centenary cut the lead to 36-31 early in the second stanza, but a 10-4 run gave the Cavaliers a 46-35 lead with 15:42 remaining. Cabrini never looked back as they eventually expanded their lead to 62-45 with 6:49 remaining.

Paul Jones (Trenton, N.J. / Ewing) finished with nine points and eight rebounds, while fellow classmate
Zachary Duymich (Millstone Township, N.J. / Allentown) added nine assists, seven points and five rebounds. Sophomore
Tom Weiler (Old Bridge, N.J. / Bishop George Ahr) totaled nine rebounds and six points, while both senior
Kyle Smith (Warwick, N.Y. / Burke Catholic) and junior
Hamp Smith (Allentown, Pa. / William Allen) both totaled two points apiece.
