RADNOR, Pa. (Jan. 23, 2017)- Four starters scored in double figures as the Centenary University men's basketball team dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest to Cabrini University, 83-66, on Monday evening.
Tyheim Monroe finished with 14 points and 16 rebounds for the Cavaliers who improve to 13-4 overall and 9-1 in the CSAC. Junior
Rashaan Spencer (Hackettstown, N.J. / Mount Olive) totaled 16 points for the Cyclones who fall to 9-8 overall and 5-5 in the CSAC.
The Cyclones trailed 8-0 early, but fought back to cut the Cavaliers advantage to 23-22 on a fastbreak layup by senior
Zachary Duymich (Millstone Township, N.J. / Allentown). Cabrini closed the half on a 10-5 run, including a Deryl Bagwell triple with 13 seconds remaining that propelled the Cavaliers to a 33-27 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Cyclones couldn't erase the first half deficit as Cabrini used a 22-7 run over 4:44 to extend their lead to as large as 21 points at 66-45 with 9:59 remaining.
Duymich finished with 12 points, six rebounds and three assists, while sophomore
Jake Logue (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) added 11 points and nine rebounds. Senior
Paul Jones (Trenton, N.J. / Ewing) and junior
Hamp Smith (Allentown, Pa. / William Allen) both chipped in with 10 points. Bagwell totaled 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Ivan Robinson added 15 points and DeVahnte Molsey totaled 13 points.
