Early Goal Downs Men’s Soccer Against Scranton

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Sept. 10, 2016)- Sophomore Devon Warne (Belvidere, N.J. / Belvidere) made 10 saves as the Centenary University men's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest to the University of Scranton, 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Connor Casey netted the game-winner for the Royals who remain undefeated at 4-0 overall. Senior Luis Marin (Union City, N.J. / Union Hill) totaled three shots for the Cyclones who fall to 1-2 overall.

After Casey netted his goal off an assist from Tim DiBisceglie in the 8th minute, Warne went on a mission to stop every ball that was framed on net. He stopped 10 of the 11 shots on goal, despite Scranton taking 26 total shots for the game.

Junior Richy Castro (Landing, N.J. / Roxbury) totaled two shots, while sophomore Sebastian Hernandez (Dover, N.J. / Dover), freshman Matt Miller (Clifton, N.J. / Clifton), junior Bryan Mason (Belvidere, N.J. / Belvidere) and junior Daniel Lamanna (Roxbury, N.J. / Roxbury) all recorded one shot apiece. Riley Smith took a match-high fives shots for the Royals.

Head Coach Keith O'Connor and the Cyclones will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 14, hosting the Greyhounds of Moravian College at 4:00 p.m.
