Tierney and Jasiecki record two RBI’s apiece as Baseball Falls to CSAC Leader Keystone

LA PLUME, Pa. (Apr. 30, 2016)- Sophomore John Tierney (West Milford, N.J. / West Milford) and freshman Ryan Jasiecki (Ledgewood, N.J. / Roxbury) each drove in two runs apiece as the Centenary College baseball team was swept by Keystone College on Saturday. The Giants improve to 27-8 overall and 12-3 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference, while the Cyclones fall to 17-13 overall and 7-8 in the CSAC.

Game 1: Keystone 3, Centenary 2
Sophomore Kevin Sensale (Bartonsville, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East) went 2-for-3, while Tierney drove in two runs as Keystone took game one in walk off fashion with a homerun in the bottom of the seventh by Robbie Nardelli.

Centenary trailed 2-0 entering the sixth, when Tierney singled to score senior Nick Koffel (Perkiomenville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) and junior Sal Smith (Toms River, N.J. / Toms River North).

Felix Baez struck out 15 batters and improved to 6-2, while freshman Trey Hinkle (Macungie, Pa. / Emmaus) fanned six and fell to 6-2.

Game 2: Keystone 5, Centenary 3
Jasiecki drove in two runs, while senior Chris Ohlweiler (Verona, N.J. / Verona) drove in another as the Giants rallied from a 3-1 deficit to take game two.

Despite scattering only four hits in the loss, Centenary actually took a 3-1 lead in the fourth on back-to-back RBI's from Jasiecki and Ohlweiler. Keystone regained the lead in the fifth with three runs on three hits, including back-to-back RBI's from Chris Triano and Nate Ross.

The Giants were able to score an insurance run in the sixth, when Julian Lanfranco scored on a wild pitch.
