Sensale Homers as Baseball Falls in Series Opener against Keystone

ALLAMUCHY, N.J. (Apr. 29, 2016)- Sophomore Kevin Sensale (Bartonsville, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East) hit a solo homerun in the eighth inning as the Centenary College baseball team fell to Keystone College, 7-1, in the series opener on Friday. The Giants improve to 25-8 overall and 10-3 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference, while the Cyclones fall to 17-11 overall and 7-6 in the CSAC.

Keystone was solid on the mound and at the plate, as Nate Ross went 3-for-5 with two RBI's and two runs scored, while Jesse Arnold struck out 13 batters in seven innings of scoreless baseball. The Giants scored six runs on 13 hits, including scoring four runs on three hits in the fourth.

The Cyclones scattered five hits over seven innings before Sensale's bomb to center field in the eighth. Senior Nick Koffel (Perkiomenville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) and junior Nick Daniele (Colts Neck, N.J. / Red Bank Catholic) only recorded one hit apiece, as both players are counting down to their 100th career hit. After today, Koffel needs four hits, while Daniele only needs one.

Senior Chris Ohlweiler (Verona, N.J. / Verona), sophomore John Tierney (West Milford, N.J. / West Milford) and freshman Ryan Jasiecki (Ledgewood, N.J. / Roxbury) each posted a hit in the loss.

Head Coach Scott Kushner and the Cyclones will return to action tomorrow in La Plume, Pa. against the Giants of Keystone College at 12:00 p.m.
