ALLENTOWN, Pa. (Apr. 22, 2016)- Junior
Alexis Wilson (Bayonne, N.J. / Marist) went 3-for-3 as the Centenary College softball team dropped its fifth straight game and its second straight doubleheader after being swept by Cedar Crest College on Friday afternoon.
The Falcons improve to 18-14 overall and 9-5 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference, while the Cyclones fall to 6-19 overall and 6-10 in the CSAC.
Game 1: Cedar Crest 8, Centenary 0
Laura Rau tossed a complete game shutout with five strikeouts and only two walks in the 8-0 mercy rule victory. Cedar Crest scored eight runs on 11 hits, including scoring four runs on four hits in the bottom of the second.
Wilson went 2-for-2, while sophomore
Carolyn Clites (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. / Hasbrouck Heights) went 2-for-3.
Game 2: Cedar Crest 7, Centenary 4
The Cyclones actually led 4-1 entering the fifth inning, but the Falcons answered with six runs in the final three innings to sweep the doubleheader.
Junior
Becca Raymond (Long Valley, N.J. / West Morris Central) went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while fellow classmate
Katie Lauria (Middlesex, N.J. / Middlesex) went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Wilson went 1-for-1 with a run scored, while sophomore
Ashley Eisenstein (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
Lauria gave the Cyclones their first lead of the afternoon with a two RBI single, which scored Raymond and Eisenstein for the 2-0 advantage. Eisenstein and Raymond both returned the favor with RBI's in the third and fourth innings to give Centenary a 4-1 lead.
Cedar Crest rallied in the fifth with five runs on five hits for a 6-1 lead.

Kim Broking and the Cyclones will return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Apr. 23, hosting the Cavaliers of Cabrini College at 1:00 p.m.
