SCRANTON, Pa. (Apr. 19, 2016)- Sophomore
Carolyn Clites (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. / Hasbrouck Heights) went 4-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored as the Centenary College softball team dropped a doubleheader to Marywood University on Tuesday afternoon. The Pacers improve to 16-10 overall and 13-3 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference, while the Cyclones fall to 6-17 overall and 6-8 in the CSAC.
Game 1: Marywood 11, Centenary 3 (6 Inn.)
The Cyclones actually lead 2-0 entering the third inning, with runs batted in by Clites and junior
Alexis Wilson (Bayonne, N.J. / Marist). Clites hit a double in the first to drive home junior
Becca Raymond (Long Valley, N.J. / West Morris Central), while Wilson singled to bring home fellow classmate
Katie Lauria (Middlesex, N.J. / Middlesex) in the second.
Marywood responded in the third with five runs on one hit and one error, as the Pacers took a 5-2 lead. Centenary was able to recover a run in the fourth with Wilson scoring on an error, but Marywood maintain a 5-3 lead. Â The Pacers bats then exploded in the fifth and sixth innings with six runs on six hits, as Marywood mercy ruled the Cyclones in game one.
Raymond went 3-for-3, while Wilson, Clites and sophomore
Ashley Eisenstein (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) all posted two hits apiece.

The Cyclones actually lead 3-0 entering the fourth with runs batted in from sophomore
Skye Kent-Suarez (Allentown, Pa. / William Allen) and junior
Kylie Morgan-Polefka (Wharton, N.J. / Boonton). Kent-Suarez singled to score Eisenstein in the first and Morgan-Polefka doubled to score Eisenstein and Clites in the third.
The Pacers answered with all eight runs in the fourth and fifth innings, including scoring six runs on six hits in the fourth.
Eisenstein, Clites and Kent-Suarez all recorded two hits apiece.
Head Coach
Kim Broking and the Cyclones will return to action in Allentown, Pa. on Friday, Apr. 22 against the Falcons of Cedar Crest College at 3:00 p.m.
