SAN JUAN, P.R. (Mar. 7, 2016) - The Centenary College softball team dropped to 0-5 with losses to Randolph College and DeSales University on Monday.
Randolph 5, Centenary 4The Wildcats improved to 8-2 overall, by holding off a late rally from the Cyclones. Randolph held a 4-1 lead in the third, when a string of walks and errors allowed Centenary to even the contest at 4-4. ln the sixth, the Wildcats loaded the bases and the Cyclones walked in the go-ahead run.
Sophomore
Carolyn Clites (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. / Hasbrouck Heights) went 2-for-3 with a triple, while junior
Kylie Morgan-Polefka (Wharton, N.J. / Boonton) pitched a complete game and took the loss. Jessica Nowak went 2-for-3 with two RBI's, while Ashley Dudding went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
DeSales 9, Centenary 1 DeSales improved to 2-1, as the Bulldogs recorded nine runs on 13 hits in a run rule game. Despite only tallying two hits, the Cyclones evened the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the third. After Clites reached on an error by the left fielder, junior
Becca Raymond (Long Valley, N.J. / West Morris Central) reached on an error by the right fielder to score Clites.
DeSales regained the lead in the fifth with three runs on three hits. The Bulldogs would do most of their damage in the sixth with five runs on six hits.
Sophomore
Sammie Darling (Succasunna, N.J. / Roxbury) struck out three batters and took the loss, while Leann Panconi fanned three batters and improved to 1-0.

Kim Broking and the Cyclones will return to action on Tuesday, Mar. 22, hosting the Cougars of Kean University in a doubleheader at 3:00 p.m.
