Carolyn Clites (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. / Hasbrouck Heights) and
Sammie Darling (Succasunna, N.J. / Roxbury) each recorded a run batted in, as the Centenary College softball team was swept by the No. 24 Cougars of Kean University on Tuesday afternoon. Kean improves to 7-9 overall, while Centenary falls to 0-7.
Kean 19, Centenary 1 (5 Inn.)The Cougars scored 19 runs on 17 hits in a mercy rule game. Kean led 7-0 in the third, when Clites doubled to left field to score fellow classmate
Ashley Eisenstein (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township). Kean wasn't done yet, as in the fifth they scored 12 runs on eight hits including a three run homer by Dana Knapp.
Knapp went 3-for-5 with five RBI's and three runs scored, while Amanda Berezny went 4-for-5 with three RBI's and two runs scored. Eisenstein and junior
Becca Raymond (Long Valley, N.J. / West Morris Central) were the only other Cyclones to record a hit in the game.
Kean 9, Centenary 1Â Â The Cyclones scattered seven hits with only one run. Kean scored seven runs over the first three innings, before Centenary got on the scoreboard. Junior
Kylie Morgan-Polefka (Wharton, N.J. / Boonton) started off with a single through the left side and then advanced to third on a throwing error. Darling stepped to the plate and smacked an RBI single to score Morgan-Polefka.
Morgan-Polefka went 1-for-2 with a run scored, while junior
Jamie Weingarten (Kendall Park, N.J. / South Brunswick) and sophomore
Raychel Piserchia (Lyndhurst, N.J. / Queen of Peace) each posted a hit. Emily Sabo went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI's, while Knapp finished 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI.

Kim Broking and the Cyclones will return to action in Montclair, N.J. on Thursday, Mar. 24 against the Red Hawks of Montclair State University in a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
