HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Mar. 30, 2016)- On the heels of hat-tricks from junior
Nolan Gottshall (Toms River, N.J. / Toms River East), senior
Trevor Krupinski (Lincoln Park, N.J. / Boonton) and senior
Joey DeBiasse (Long Valley, N.J. / West Morris Central), the Centenary College men's lacrosse team defeated CSAC rival Rosemont College by the final of 14-8.
The Cyclones got on Rosemont from the opening whistle as Gottshall scored just 50 seconds into the contest. After a goal by Rosemont, Centenary extended their lead to 7-1 by halftime. Sophomores
Michael Muff (Havertown, Pa. / Haverford) and
Denzel Thompson (Montclair, N.J. / Montclair) each scored, while DeBiasse recorded a goal and Krupinski scored two goals towards the end of the half.
In the second half, Centenary extended the lead to 12-1 with 49 seconds left in the third quarter. Rosemont outscored the Cyclones in the fourth quarter, including four straight goals towards the end of the game. Despite the late rally from the Ravens, Centenary held on with the 14-8 victory.
This win puts the Cyclones two games over .500 for the season with a 5-3 record.
