Kristen Rabenstein (Spring Grove, Pa. / Spring Grove) netted a hat-trick as the Centenary College women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest to Purchase College, 19-7.
Zoe Hines finished with six points on five goals and one assist for the Panthers who improve to 3-1 overall. Rabenstein added four groundballs, four caused turnovers and four draw controls for the Cyclones who fall to 3-5 overall.
Senior
Devin Sutko (Cinnaminson, N.J. / Cinnaminson) assisted on the only two Cyclones goals in the first half by fellow classmate
Carlie Schmitt (Stewartstown, Pa. / Kennard-Dale) and junior
Abby Voelkner (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls). After Schmitt tied the game up at 1-1 with 23:18 remaining, the Panthers scored seven unanswered goals to take a 9-2 lead at halftime.
Rabenstein scored all three goals in the second stanza, as Purchase opened the half with seven unanswered goals before Rabenstein netted back-to-back goals.
Voelkner added five draw controls and two caused turnovers, while junior
Priscilla Ortiz (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) totaled three draw controls. Cynthia Plackis made nine saves and recorded the decision, while freshman
Renee Hack (Old Bridge, N.J. / Bishop George Ahr) made 10 saves in 60 minutes of work.
