ASTON, Pa. (Mar. 18, 2016)- Freshman
Casey Brown (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area) went 3-for-4 as the Centenary College baseball team only managed two runs, despite recording ten hits, in the 9-2 loss to Neumann University. The Cyclones fell to 5-4 overall and 0-1 in the CSAC, while the Knights improve to 5-8 overall and 1-0 in the CSAC.
The Knights took a 6-0 lead with back-to-back RBI's in the second and fourth innings, respectively. Centenary finally got a run across the plate in the fifth, when junior
JP Tortman (Riverton, N.J. / Life Center Academy) homered to center field. After Neumann recorded two more runs in the seventh, junior
Nick Daniele (Colts Neck, N.J. / Red Bank Catholic) hit an RBI single down the left field line to score sophomore
Michael Caprari (Candor, N.Y. / Owego Free Academy) in the eighth.
Senior
Chris Ohlweiler (Verona, N.J. / Verona) went 2-for-3, while sophomores
Kevin Sensale (Bartonsville, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East) and
John Tierney (West Milford, NJ / West Milford) tallied a hit. Chuck Trentler and Sam Banks both went 4-for-5 with three runs scored, while Kristian DeLuzio tossed a complete game with five strikeouts.
Head Coach
Scott Kushner and the Cyclones will return to action on Sat. Mar. 19, against the Knights of Neumann University in a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
