IMMACULATA, Pa. (Dec. 3, 2016)- Junior
Rashaan Spencer (Hackettstown, N.J. / Mount Olive) finished with 22 points, including making three triples as the Centenary University men's basketball team fell to Immaculata University, 79-63 on Saturday afternoon.
Roy Ferrell Jr. finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds for the Mighty Macs who improve to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Sophomore
Jake Logue (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) finished with 16 points, five rebounds and two blocks for the Cyclones who fall to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the CSAC.
The Cyclones trailed 45-25 at the intermission after making only seven field goals and shooting 24.1% from the floor in the opening stanza. Spencer and Logue combined for 17 of the 25 first half points. Ferrell Jr. led all scorers with 17 points and 10 rebounds, including scoring his 1000
th point around the 12 minute mark.
In the second half, Centenary would get the deficit to as close as 11 behind 13 points from Spencer. Senior
Paul Jones (Trenton, N.J. / Ewing) made a layup with 8:34 remaining to cut Immaculata's lead to 57-46, before Ferrell Jr. nailed a triple on the other end that pushed the lead back up to 14.
Jones finished with eight points and five rebounds, while junior
Hamp Smith (Allentown, Pa. / William Allen) added four points, four rebounds and two steals. Matt Simon finished with 14 points and six rebounds, while Will Chapman added 12 points.
