HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Nov. 5, 2016)- Junior Justin White (Minehill, N.J. / Dover) scored the game-winner and was named the Championships Most Valuable Player as the Centenary University men's soccer team captured the 2016 Colonial States Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Championship with a decisive 3-0 victory over Cabrini University on Saturday afternoon.   

Senior Luis Marin (Union City, N.J. / Union Hill) assisted on two goals for the Cyclones who improve to 13-5-1 overall and have earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. CJ Serratore made five saves for the Cavaliers who finish their regular season at 12-7-1 overall.

White scored his game-winner in the 32^nd minute, as he one-touched the ball past the defender and ripped a shot just outside the 18-yard box. Centenary led 1-0 at halftime, despite being outshot by Cabrini 9-8 in the opening stanza.

Marin assisted on the Cyclones second goal of the afternoon, as he played a free kick into the box for freshman Matt Miller (Clifton, N.J. / Clifton) who headed the ball for a 2-0 lead in the 63^rd minute. Centenary closed out any chance of a comeback by Cabrini when sophomore Josh Weiss (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown) scored off an assist from fellow classmate Roger Fernandez (Succcasunna, N.J. / Roxbury) in the 75^th minute.

Centenary edged Cabrini on shots (21-16) and shots on goal (8-5). White recorded a game-high five shots, while Marin and junior Richy Castro (Landing, N.J. / Roxbury) each tallied three shots apiece for the Cyclones. AJ Bishop, Ben Roda, and John Underwood each recorded three shots in the loss for Cabrini.

Head Coach Keith O'Connor and the Cyclones will now wait for Monday's Men's Soccer selection show to find out the opponent and site information of their first round match-up in the NCAA Tournament.
