Stefura and Pryslak Combine for Seven Saves as Women’s Soccer Falls to NYU in Non-Conference Tilt

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Oct. 24, 2016)- Junior Taylor Pryslak (Belvidere, N.J. / Belvidere) and freshman Justine Stefura (Port Reading, N.J. / WoodBridge) combined for seven saves as the Centenary University women's soccer team dropped a non-conference tilt to New York University at Hackettstown High School on Monday evening.

Marquel Love, Maddie Pena and Teressa Fazio each recorded a goal and assist for the Violets who improve to 9-3-3 overall. Senior Jessie Sharr (Belvidere, N.J. / Belvidere) recorded one shot for the Cyclones who fall to 8-8 overall.

NYU set the tone early as the Violets scored two goals in the opening 15 minutes, while not allowing one shot in the first half. NYU held a commanding 2-0 lead at halftime.  NYU increased their lead to 3-0 just four minutes into the second half as Pena scored off an assist from Fazio in the 49th minute.

The Violets edged the Cyclones on shots (15-2), shots on goal (10-2), and corner kicks (3-2).

Head Coach Kevin Davies and the Cyclones will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 27, against the Giants of Keystone College for Senior Day at 4:00 p.m.
