FROSTBURG, Md. (Sept 5, 2015)- Senior
Jesse Goleman (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Taylor Allderdice) made four saves in 65:35 minutes of work, as the Centenary College men's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest to the Bobcats of Frostburg State, 7-0, this afternoon.
Kelvin Tata took five shots on goal and netted one for the Bobcats who improve to 2-0. Junior
Luis Marin (Union City, N.J. / Union Hill) recorded a shot on goal for the Cyclones who fall to 0-2.
The Bobcats struck early as they scored in the 10
th minute to take an early 1-0 lead. The Cyclones only managed two offensive plays in the first half, which included Marin's shot
on goal and a corner kick taken by freshman
Josh Weiss (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown). Frostburg would score again in the 41
st minute to maintain a 2-0 lead at intermission.
In the second half, the Bobcats scored three goals in a span of six minutes to take a 5-0 lead. At that point, freshman goalkeeper
Devon Warne (Belvidere, N.J. / Belvidere) made his first appearance of his Cyclones career as he replaced Goleman and played out the final 24:26. Warne made three saves and prevented Frostburg from extending the lead any further.
Sophomore
Chris Flores (Roxbury, N.J. / Roxbury) and freshman
Roger Fernandez (Succcasunna, N.J. / Roxbury) were finally able to get back-to-back shots off in the late stages of the second half, but failed to connect on either.
