Men's Lacrosse Downed By The Pacers

Scranton, PA – The Centenary men's lacrosse team dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference game to Marywood University by a final score of 17-7.  With the loss, the Cyclones fall to 1-9 overall and 0-3 in the CSAC, while the Pacers improve to 7-3 and a perfect 3-0 in league play.

The Cyclones found themselves down 3-0 in the first quarter before Michael Muff got Centenary on the scoreboard with his 16th goal of the season.
Marywood would take control of the remainder of first half scoring eight unanswered goals led by Rob Maini and Sam Trill to head into the break with a commanding 11-1 lead.

After the break, Centenary's Anthony Biango opened the scoring in the third as he fired a shot past the goalie off a feed from Kenton Gottshall (11-2).  The Pacers however, were relentless on the offensive end getting that goal back just twenty seconds later to push the lead back up to 10.

Marywood would tack on another two goals late in the third before Centenary went on a five-goal run.  Centenary's Kenton Gottshall netted back-to-back goals to end the
third, followed by Michael Balsamo's seventh goal of the season at the 10:05 mark (14-5).

A minute later, Conor Martin would join in on the offensive action, as well as Trevor Krupinski to cut the Cyclone deficit to seven (14-7).  Marywood however, would stop the Cyclone momentum netting the final three goals for the Pacers to walk away with a 17-7 victory.

Centenary goalies split time at the net as Kevin Switzer made eight saves in 30 minutes of action, while Grant Nice stopped four.

Marywood's Rob Maini led all scorers with four goals on the day, while Dylan Swope added three goals and three assists.

Centenary will return to action when they visit Neumann University April 11th @ 2:00pm.
