Radnor, PA – The Centenary softball team split the twin bill against Cabrini College in this afternoon's Colonial States Athletic Conference game. The Cyclones are now 9-15 overall and 8-2 in the league, while Cabrini stands 14-7 and 10-13 in CSAC play.
Cabrini 4, Centenary 1In game one, a big sixth inning from Cabrini led them to a 4-1 victory. After three innings, both teams remained scoreless before Centenary pushed one run across the plate in the top of the fourth.
Erin Walsh singled to right which allowed
Ashley Eisenstein who also got on by a single to score for the 1-0 lead.
The Cavaliers got their bats going in the bottom of the sixth after two consecutive hits tied the game at one. With two outs and two runners on base, Cabrini's Amber Dietrich
blasted a homerun to left center for the 4-1 advantage and the victory.
Becca Raymond collected a pair of hits, while Eisenstein and Walsh tallied one.
Kylie Morgan-Polefka suffered the loss after throwing six innings giving up four runs off seven hits.
Centenary 6, Cabrini 1In game two, the Cyclones maintained control of the game as they pushed out to a 3-0 lead before Cabrini would get on the board after the fourth frame.
Centenary would continue to add insurance in the very next inning and added another two in the seventh. Cabrini was unable to overcome the deficit settling for the split.
Carolyn Clites went 3-for-4 with one RBI, while
Becca Raymond collected another pair of hits along with a homerun in the fourth.
Erin Walsh also powered one over the fence early on in the game for the Cyclones.
Sammie Darling also earned the win after pitching a complete game allowing just one run off of seven hits. Darling also went 2-for 4 at the plate.
Centenary will stay on the road as they face Immaculata University April 17
th @ 3pm.
