Allentown, PA – The Centenary College men's lacrosse team fell, 18-4, in a non-conference game against Muhlenberg College this afternoon. The Cyclones are now 1-2 overall, while the Mules improve to 2-1.
Muhlenberg came out firing as they opened the scoring 1:53 into the first period as Brad D'Alessandro netted his first of four goals on the day. The Mules controlled the offense pushing ahead to an 8-0 advantage by the second period.
Centenary's
Michael Muff put the Cyclones on the board netting a goal off a feed from
Anthony Biango. The Mules would tack on three more goals before
Trevor Krupinski scored a second goal for the Cyclones to end the half (11-2).
After the break,
Michael Muff and
James Iwanicki would each tally a goal in the third period but the Mules did not let up scoring another three goals for the 14-4 advantage, while adding four more in the final period.
Muff led the Cyclones with two goals, while Krupinski and Iwanicki each netted one. For the Mules, D'Alessandro led all scorers with four goals; while five teammates each tallied two goals and four other Mules each netting one.
Muhlenberg outshot Centenary 62-13 and junior keeper,
Kevin Switzer did all he can as he made 18 saves after the Mules fired 37 shots on target.
