Hackettstown, NJ – The Centenary College men's lacrosse team fell to Richard Stockton this afternoon in a non-conference game by a final score of 6-3. With the loss, the Cyclones are now 1-3 overall, while Stockton stays at a perfect 4-0.
Stockton controlled the offense throughout the majority of the game as they opened the scoring five minutes into the game and pushed ahead to lead the Cyclones 4-0 by the half.
After the break, Stockton would tack on their fifth goal before Centenary's
Trevor Krupinski put the Cyclones on the board with an unassisted goal at the 9:25 mark. Late in third quarter, Stockton's James O'Donnell netted one last goal for the 6-1 lead.
In the final period of play, Centenary's
Michael Muff fired in two goals off feeds from Krupinski and
Kenton Gottshall to get within three goals (6-3) but the momentum shift was a little too late.
Centenary's keeper,
Kevin Switzer finished the day with seven saves, while Stockton's Eric Leonard also made seven saves.
The Cyclones look to bounce back into the win column as they play host to Mt. St. Mary College March 14
