Flemington, NJ – The Centenary baseball team split against Colonial States Athletic Conference foe, Marywood University this afternoon. The Cyclones are now 9-5 overall and 1-2 in league play, while the Pacers stand at 10-3 and 3-1 in the CSAC.

Ryan Caparoni and
Kevin Litus led the offense at the plate as both were responsible for seven RBI's. Caparoni went 2-for-3 with two homeruns with five RBI's and Litus added a pair of hits with two RBI's.
The Cyclones jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first when
Nick Daniele started a two-out rally with an RBI single. Litus followed suit with a triple to right and a single to center by
Dave Raifsnider to send two Cyclones across the plate.
In the second with two outs and two on base, Centenary's lead slugger blasted a three-run shot over the right field fence for the 6-0 advantage.
Centenary would tack on four more runs throughout the next few innings for the 10-0 lead heading into the seventh. Caparoni once again would send it long for a two-run shot tallying his sixth homerun of the season.
In the seventh, the Pacers would put together a six-run rally for the comeback but was not enough as Centenary hung on for the win.
Senior pitcher,
Mitchell Renz earned his second win of the season as he kept the Pacers scoreless through six innings allowing six hits and striking out seven.

Ryan Kanner to put the Cyclones on the board (7-1). In the sixth, the Pacers would get that run back as Centenary faced an 8-1 deficit in the bottom of the sixth.
Centenary's Caparoni started things off in the sixth with a double to left field and later scoring on a Raifsnider single but that would be the extent of the scoring as Marywood walked away with game two.

Jimmy Kraivec suffered the loss with four innings pitched allowing nine hits and striking out four. Pacer pitcher, Joseph DiLoreto earned the win after throwing a complete game allowing nine hits and striking out nine Cyclones.
The Cyclones will next take on Gwynedd Mercy for a single game on the road April 3
rd beginning at 3pm.
