Winter Haven, FL – The Centenary College Softball Team (0-2) kicked off their 2015 season with a pair of losses at the Rebel Spring Games in Winter Haven, FL. The Cyclones fell to Ramapo College, 9-2, to start the day and downed by McDaniel College, 12-0.
In game one, the Cyclones got on the board in the third scoring two runs, but the roadrunners bats came alive in the fourth scoring seven runs. Ramapo registered seven hits which included a two-RBI double to right center by Amy Spellman, followed by three RBI singles from the next batters. Ramapo would tack on two more runs in the fifth after Spellman led things off with a triple to right field.
Centenary's Kylie Morgan and
Sammie Darling split time in the circle both pitching three innings striking out two batters each.
In game two, McDaniel took control of the game from the very start putting four runs on the board in the top of the first. The Green Terror continued their offensive attack scoring two in the second and one in the third, before sending five more to the plate in the fourth. McDaniel outhit Centenary 15-3 to stay unbeaten with a 5-0 overall record, while the Cyclones drop to 0-2.
The Cyclones look to bounce back as they face St. Norbert and Skidmore College tomorrow beginning at 10am.
