Gwynedd Valley, PA – The Centenary men's basketball team dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference game to Gwynedd Mercy University 67-62. With the loss, Centenary now stands at an even 11-11 on the season and 8-7 in CSAC play, while the Griffins improve to 15-7 overall and 10-5 in league play.
Gwynedd took control of the first half from the opening minutes taking the lead and pushing ahead to a 15 point advantage (37-22) with 4:23 left in the half. Centenary managed to cut the deficit to nine (38-29) before heading into the break.
Trailing 45-38 with 14:19 on the clock, the Cyclones went on a 12-0 run sparked by
Djovan Beausejour scoring six consecutive points followed by back-to-back three pointers from
Kyle Smith to give Centenary their first lead of the night (50-45).
The Griffins quickly answered with an 8-0 run to regain the upper hand with a 52-50 lead at the 5:34 mark. Gwynedd would keep Centenary at bay holding on to their slim advantage to seal the win.
Beausejour netted a season – high 17 points shooting 4-of-9 from the floor and 7-of-10 at the line. Senior forward,
Andy Charles added 14 points and five rebounds, while
Rashaan Spencer chipped in 11 points in the contest on 4-of-6 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 from deep.
Zachary Duymich dished out a season-high eight assists for the Cyclones.
The Griffins were led by Justin Knight who tabbed a game-high 21 points and Darnell Artis who added 16 points and seven rebounds.

th @ 2:00pm and honor their three seniors.
