Scranton, PA – On Wednesday night, the Centenary College Cyclones dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference game to the Marywood University Pacers.
Marywood jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the opening minutes and Centenary couldn't close the gap as the lead extended to 34-21 by the break.
The Pacers started the second half strong as well with them going on an 8-2 run over a 2:25 span which brought the lead to 40-25. The 15-point advantage turned into something the Cyclones couldn't overcome as the lead remained in double-digits for the remainder of the game.
Freshman guard,
Rachel Edwards led the Cyclones as she netted 14 points in the contest going 4-for-6 from the field including 4-of-5 from the arch.
Mallory George and
Ally Fugnitti had similar statistical nights as they both went 4-for-11 from the field. George tallied 12 points and five rebounds while Fugnitti nailed 10 points and two rebounds.
For Marywood three players stood out in the victory. Danielle Terranella led the team in points with 15 while grabbing five rebounds. Tara Steakin almost had a double-double with 12 points and eight rebounds. Maggie Presnal on the other hand did record a double-double in the contest as she went 4-for-11 from the field for 10 points while garnering 13 rebounds.
The Cyclones will look to get into the win column back at the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center as they host Gwynedd Mercy @ 7:00 PM on January 12
th.
