Cyclones Upend Giants in Conference Road Game

La Plume, PA – The Centenary College men's basketball team defeated Keystone College in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) game by a final score of 84-71.  The Cyclones improved to 3-3 overall and a perfect 2-0 in CSAC play, while Keystone drops to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Centenary jumped out to an early six point lead before Keystone's Miles Dargan sank back-to-back three pointers to tie the game at 12 in the 15th minute.  Over the next ten minutes of play, both teams would trade baskets with four lead changes.

Keystone managed to take a two-point lead with 8:40 (26-24) left but a layup from Josh Case and three pointer from Myles McLeod put Centenary on top (29-26) sparking an 11-3 run for their largest lead of the half (7).  Centenary would head to the locker room with a four point advantage (40-36).

Senior forward, Andy Charles led the Cyclones with 13 first half points on 5-of-6 shooting with a perfect 2-for-2 from behind the arc, while Myles McLeod chipped in 10 points and also perfect from three point land (3-for-3).

Centenary was hot from beyond the arc sinking seven first half threes and continued the trend dropping another six in the second half amassing their largest lead (14) of the game (57-43).  The Cyclones would never relinquish their advantage despite a 13-2 run by the Giants midway through the second half to get within three.  Centenary would respond with back-to-back three pointers from freshman guard, Rashaan Spencer to bring the lead back to nine.

Spencer provided the second half spark off the bench scoring 16 points in 17 minutes on 4-of-6 shooting from three point land and a perfect 4-for-4 from the stripe.  Zachary Duymich joined in on the action with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field and 4-for-6 in three pointers.

Five Cyclone players tallied double-figures as they shot 56% from the field (31-of-55) and 59% from beyond the arc (13-for-22).  Charles finished the night with a team-high 17 points and seven rebounds, McLeod chipped in a total of 14 points and Case ended the night with 12 points.

Centenary will be back in action Saturday December 6th for a home conference game against Cabrini College at 4:00pm.
