Khouri Leads Cyclones Past Defenders in CSAC Action

Hackettstown, NJ – Behind Quinn Khouri's two goals, the Centenary men's soccer team defeated Baptist Bible College in this afternoon's home CSAC Conference match, 4-0.  The Cyclones improve to 7-3-1 overall and 2-1 in conference, while the Defenders drop to 4-9 and 2-2.

The first 45 minutes belonged to the Cyclone offense as they held a 14-1 shot advantage as well as 5-0 in corner kicks.  Despite outshooting the Defenders, Centenary was unable to find the back of the net.  Baptist Bible goalie, Dillon Bowman, collected eight saves in the first half alone for a scoreless half.

The Cyclones controlled the offense once again in the second half as shots and corner kicks favored Centenary (14-2) (5-0).

Midfielder, Quinn Khouri would break the scoreless tie with back to back goals in the 68th and 81st minute.  Off a pass from Luis Marin, Khouri was able to beat a defender and send a shot into the upper right corner.  Later, he would pick up the rebound off a shot by Abiodun Lawal to fire a shot between the pipes for his 10th goal of the season.

Leading 2-0 with less than eight minutes to play, Centenary's Justin White and Richy Castro tacked on two more goals to cap off the 4-0 CSAC conference victory.

With Centenary tallying 27 shots and 10 corner kicks, Defender goalie picked up 11 saves on the day, while Jesse Goleman notched his fourth shutout of the season.

Centenary next will host Immaculata University in a CSAC Conference match on Saturday October 11th at 2:30pm.
